Dr. Konstantinos Georgopoulos has been a Research Associate at the Telecommunication Systems Institute of the Technical University of Crete since 2011. He was awarded his PhD in 2007 by the Engineering Department of Lancaster University U.K. and, subsequently, worked as a Senior Teaching Associate at the same department for the next three years. Dr. Georgopoulos has been active in both Academic teaching as well as research, specifically, he has taught undergraduate as well as postgraduate courses for Lancaster University, the Technical University of Crete and, finally, the Athens University of Economics and Business. Moreover, he has participated in numerous research projects (FP7, Horizon2020, Αριστεία) both on the purely scientific/research aspects as well as on the managerial requirements of these projects. His research interests revolve mainly around reconfigurable hardware as the technology for addressing contemporary and demanding scientific challenges such as high performance computing, security and novel architectures.
